Job Description
Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Dept: Engineering
Reports To: Director of Engineering
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Linked to Field Operations, Preconstruction, and Project Management
LPL Solar is a self-perform construction firm focused on building large-scale solar projects (think > 700 football fields minimum) for utility companies and Independent Power Producers (IPPs). Our management team of industry leaders and experts have a combined experience of 84GW of solar experience over 650+ projects in twenty-one states and the Canadian province of Ontario.
As an Electrical Engineer with LPL Solar, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the EOR, in conjunction with the Project Management and Project Operations Team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Electrical Design EOR in conjunction with the Project Management and Project Operation Teams
- Optimize Design Solar Design
- Support the Construction Process through RFI and Communication with Manufacturers.
- Support the estimating team on as needed basis.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 3+ years of Utility Scale Solar design required.
- Required AutoCAD and preferred PV Case Experience,
- Required experience reviewing electrical plans from 10% - IFC sets, one-line diagrams, PPA review and coordinating compliance at interconnection point, Review operation and maintenance manuals.
- Experienced using PVsyst and reviewing EOR PVsyst output.
Education and Experience:
- Preference is given to candidates with BESS design experience.
- BS in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- A remote position is available for candidates located on the East Coast
