About Helix Aviation Academy: Helix Aviation Academy is a STEM-focused, public charter school within the Helix Community Schools network, dedicated to empowering students through rigorous academics, real-world learning, and innovative technology integration.

Position Overview: The 1st Grade Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, fostering a safe and positive classroom environment, and supporting the academic and emotional growth of each student. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a deep commitment to early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver standards-based lessons in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles
Assess student progress regularly and communicate results with parents and guardians
Create a warm, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture
Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and administration
Integrate technology and innovative teaching practices into daily instruction
Participate in professional development and school community events

Additional Expectations:

All staff are expected to sponsor one club or Enrichment during school hours when scheduled. Additional pay is not provided as this is a part of every teacher's job role.
All teachers who teach at Helix Community Schools will be expected to constantly grow in the use of technology to enhance student learning because we are a part of Verizon Innovative Learning Schools and genuinely believe in digital equity for our students.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's preferred)
Valid state teaching certification for elementary education
Minimum of 3 years of full-time teaching experience, preferably in a 1st grade or early elementary classroom
Strong knowledge of child development and early literacy/numeracy best practices
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success
