About Prep
Boston Prep is a college-preparatory charter public district, made up of a single-site middle and high school. In 2026-2027, our community will include 700 students in grades 6-12, nearly 500 alumni, over 150 faculty members, and hundreds of families. The majority of our students and families reside in Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. As a charter public school, we welcome all students via an impartial public lottery, and hold the same high expectations and ambitions for all of our students, including those with special needs and English language learners.

As a 6-12 Compliance Manager…
You believe in creating an educational experience where students are able to see themselves reflected in the content of your class.
Special Education Compliance and Case Management Systems
Manage and monitor compliance with all federal and Massachusetts special education regulations, including IDEA and DESE requirements.
Maintain oversight of all IEP timelines, evaluations, progress reporting, and required documentation to ensure compliance with state and federal deadlines.
Monitor the accuracy and completion of all special education documentation, including:
IEPs
evaluation reports
input forms
progress reports
consent forms
extended evaluation documentation
meeting summaries
Ensure compliance documentation is accurately maintained in the school's special education data system.
Develop and implement internal systems to track evaluation timelines, service delivery, and documentation completion.
Conduct regular compliance audits to ensure documentation and processes meet DESE standards.
Evaluation and Eligibility Process Management
Coordinate all initial, reevaluation, and triennial evaluations for students in grades 6-12.
Ensure evaluation processes meet legal timelines and procedural requirements.
Collaborate with school psychologists and service providers to coordinate evaluation completion.
Review evaluation reports prior to team meetings to ensure clarity regarding:
eligibility determination
disability classifications
student needs
recommended services and accommodations
Support teams in interpreting evaluation results and ensuring recommendations align with student needs and legal requirements.
IEP Development and Team Meeting Leadership
- Lead or co-lead IEP team meetings as the compliance expert and administrative designee when appropriate.
- Draft, revise, and finalize IEPs in alignment with team decisions and compliance requirements.
- Ensure IEP goals, accommodations, and services are legally compliant and instructionally appropriate.
- Ensure IEPs clearly reflect student needs and are implemented with fidelity.
- Monitor service delivery and ensure students receive the services outlined in their IEPs.
Family Partnership and Communication
- Serve as a primary point of contact for families regarding special education compliance processes.
- Ensure families receive evaluation summaries and required documentation in advance of meetings.
- Facilitate collaborative and inclusive IEP meetings that ensure families feel informed and involved in decision-making.
- Maintain accurate documentation of family communication and meeting summaries.
- Support systems that gather family feedback regarding the special education process and services.
Staff Support and Systems Development
- Support special education teachers and service providers in navigating compliance requirements and documentation expectations.
- Provide guidance on IEP development, evaluation procedures, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with school leaders to strengthen special education systems and practices.
- Support staff training related to compliance procedures, documentation, and legal requirements.
Collaboration and School Culture
- Collaborate with instructional leaders, special education staff, and service providers to ensure coordinated support for students.
- Participate in school leadership meetings, MTSS meetings, and student support team discussions.
- Contribute to Boston Prep's collaborative, mission-driven culture.
- Support school-wide initiatives that improve student outcomes and equity in access to services.
Compensation:
- The pay range for this role is: $65,650- $115,000.
Qualifications include:
Experience:
- Education
Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred
Qualifications
Deep knowledge of IDEA and Massachusetts special education regulations
Experience coordinating special education evaluations and IEP processes
Strong organizational and systems management skills
Ability to manage multiple compliance timelines simultaneously
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
Experience managing special education compliance systems across multiple grade levels
Experience with special education data systems and compliance tracking
Certification:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education license OR
Massachusetts administrator or related licensure preferred
