2026 Rolling Stock Mechanic- RSC (Mechrl - Rsc)

Job Summary:

Location: Naknek, AlaskaCompany: Red Salmon Cannery in Bristol Bay AKJob Type: Seasonal/Temporary The Rolling Stock Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance of all facility rolling stock including but not limited to forklifts, flatbeds, pallet jacks and all other company vehicles.

This is a seasonal position from aprox. mid May to early August.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Repair and preform preventative maintenance on all plant rolling stock.
• Lubricates vehicles, oils and replaces broken or worn parts.
• Inspects and repairs worn, malfunctioning or broken parts.
• Maintains records relating to the maintenance and repair of assigned vehicles.
• Examines vehicle and determines nature and extent of damage or malfunction.
• Repairs or replaces parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
• Overhauls or replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, and pumps.
• Relines and adjusts brakes, aligns front end, repairs or replaces shock absorbers, and solders leaks in radiator.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experienced mechanic with minimum four years on both gas and diesel vehicles.
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment for up to 12 hours a day 7 days a week.
• Experience in forklift mechanics in all aspects including electrical preferred.
• Experience and understanding of hydraulics and hydraulic motors.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently.
• Hold a valid US Driver’s License.
• Able to take quick action, exercise independent decision making and resolution of mechanical problems.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must provide own tools.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Employer will provide round trip transportation to and from the plant from point of hire. Employer will also provide room and board and shipping of tools at no charge.
