POSITION SUMMARY |
Carmen Schools seeks knowledgeable and enthusiastic candidates for a Post-Secondary Success Coordinator. The Post-Secondary Success Coordinator is the ideal position for an individual with a deep belief in the mission of Carmen and a passion for supporting students. The Post-Secondary Success Coordinator works directly with high school students as they complete their senior year and transition to the post-secondary planning while also implementing an alumni support program that focuses on assisting and ensuring Carmen graduates successfully matriculate to and graduate from college. The majority of the direct work with high school students would focus on upperclassmen through grade-level seminar, a regular class that alternates between a post-secondary planning workshop and study hall. The College and Career team help students make informed decisions about college, career, and life after high school and align advising to students' unique goals.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES |
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university required
- Eligibility to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational ability and the ability to perform well under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student and family population
- Tracking and analyzing individual and cohort student metrics for planning and interventions
- Ability to exercise both discretion and transparency and uphold the highest ethical standards
- Sensitivity, openness, and approachability; ability to process feedback
- Two years related professional experience; preference for college admission experience and/or college counseling and/or high school teaching experience
- Commitment to Carmen's mission, values and organizational success
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Build and maintain meaningful student and alumni relationships
- Work directly with students one-on-one, in small groups, and the classroom setting to help them maximize opportunities for post-secondary planning
- Advise and advocate for students throughout college application, matriculation, persistence and graduation, including financial aid
- Serve as a general resource for students, families, and staff regarding post-secondary options
- Co-plan and teach seminar at least three days per week
- Help plan and implement parent workshops
- Maintain accurate and complete records for students and alumni
- Coordinate, chaperone, and lead college campus visits for students including summer visits for enrolling students and campus visits for alumni as scheduling allows
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, team meetings, and campus events
- Work collaboratively with other College and Career Team members to support student exploration and postsecondary planning
- Pursue professional development opportunities in or out of school; display a willingness and ability to grow, learn, and practice self-reflection

- Participate in other school-related activities and duties, as needed
WORK ENVIRONMENT |
The position will work predominantly Monday – Friday at their assigned location.
