Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Long-Term Care | Kodiak, Alaska
Location: Kodiak, AK 99615Start Date: August 25, 2025Duration: 13 weeks (with potential extension)Pay: $30/hr NO STIPEND-Housing & Vehicle Provided
- If traveler accepts hospital provided housing or rental car, they are not eligible for housing or rental car stipends
Shifts Available:
- Day: 3x12 (7 AM – 7 PM)
- Night: 3x12 (7 PM – 7 AM)

About the Facility
This is a Critical Access Hospital & LTC Facility with:
- 22-bed Long-Term Care Unit
- Level IV Trauma Center
- Epic EMR system
- Free parking
- Interdisciplinary support (Social Services, Unit Secretary, Interpretation Services)
What You’ll Do
Provide direct LTC patient care including:
- ADLs: bathing, feeding, ambulation, turning & repositioning
- Vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations)
- Incontinence care & skin integrity monitoring
- Specimen collection & glucose point-of-care testing
- Infection control & isolation precautions
- Assist with patients diagnosed with Dementia, CVA, and other chronic conditions
- Float within the hospital or nearby affiliate facilities as needed
- Work with a supportive care team in a 1:4 day ratio and 1:6 night ratio
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months CNA experience
- Active CNA license (OR eligible & must submit Alaska CNA application within 72 hours of signing contract)
- BLS Certification
- Proof of formal CNA training (certificate/transcripts required if pending Alaska license)
- Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- Two supervisory references within the last 3 years
Special Licensing Note
No active Alaska CNA license? You must:
- Provide a valid CNA license from another state
- Submit Alaska CNA application within 72 hours (includes fingerprints, $275 fee, & educational verification)
Travel & Housing Details
Housing:
- Facility-provided 1-bedroom apartment
- Available 72 hours before contract starts & 24 hours after it ends
- Must be cleaned before departure (extra cleaning fees may apply)
- No pets allowed
Rental Vehicle:
- Facility-provided car
- Must provide valid DL & proof of insurance
- Vehicle for local use only (within 30 miles)
- Must return cleaned & with full tank
Additional Details
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Must be at least 50 miles outside Kodiak (no locals)
- Pending license accepted
- Return traveler policy: Must have 6-month break after 1 calendar year assignment
- Hep B vaccination required (no titers or declinations)
