  • The primary responsibility is to promote the growth, well-being and autonomy of the individuals served. Growth refers to the maturation of the individual in an age-appropriate manner. Well-being reflects the preferences of the individual. Autonomy is the ability of the individual in ensuring that they have the support needed to maintain control over their environments and life events.
  • Create a positive work environment and role model team work by completing DSPII duties; leading, teaching, and guiding staff in completion of their job duties; and communicating effectively with consumers, team members, residential supervisor, and family members.
  • Complete monthly job duties (monitor food stamps and grocery account by assuring recording, update attendance sheet daily and send in at end of month, upon notification form maintenance engineer assure oil changes are completed on a bi-monthly basis at designated repair shop, and assure yearly tune-up on vehicles occurs each fall, inspect and record temperatures of refrigerator and freezers on a monthly basis, change furnace filter monthly, and perform or assist with the purchase of household supplies).
  • Assist Residential Supervisor with duties as assigned, which may include, but not be limited to: providing input and information for the Residential/Social assessments, designing of objectives to fit area of need for consumers, providing input on staff evaluations, and ensuring data has been recorded daily and completed at the end of each shift.
  • Provide consumers with support in maintaining their finances by: assisting with checkbook balances, reconciliation of bank statement to checkbook, performing bank transactions with consumers, assisting consumers in payment of all bills, and documentation of money withdrawals and deposits, and check finance record for accuracy every month.
  • Completion of DSPII duties.
  • Attend agency staff meetings, participate in agency sponsored in service training, and enhance professional development by reading, and attending job related workshops and classes.
 

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION

 
  • Minimum high school diploma, two years of college preferred.
 

EXPERIENCE

 
  • Two years experience in working in the human service field.
 

PHYSICAL

 
  • Assistance with transferring and lifting up to 50 pounds
