Job Description
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on facility equipment, machinery, and building systems. This position helps ensure equipment reliability, workplace safety, and efficient operations while minimizing downtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facility systems according to established schedules.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment as assigned.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery, equipment, and facilities to identify maintenance needs.
- Replace worn or defective parts and components.
- Perform basic electrical (low and high voltage), general building maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair logs.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with installation, setup, and relocation of equipment and machinery.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with inventory control of maintenance supplies and spare parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Basic understanding of PLC (Program Logic Control) system
- Understanding of reading blueprints
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, and safety procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for work order and maintenance tracking systems.
