Job Description

Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels for the warehouse. This position will monitor inventory levels, track stock movement, conduct regular audits, and ensure that inventory records are up to date.

2nd Shift: 4:30PM - 12:30AM, Monday-Friday

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conducting regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Identifying and investigating discrepancies in inventory records.
  • Ensuring material put-away and accurate selection of product.
  • Generate inventory reports for customers and convey departmental activities to the Operations team.
  • Verifies stock information and unit identification numbers.
  • Stores and retrieves equipment and/or parts for work orders.
  • Providing training and support to employees on departmental procedures and performance.
  • Comply with quality performance standards.
  • May utilize Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment for counting duties.
  • May coordinate with other departments to optimize inventory management processes.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Responsible for following warehouse safety regulations.
  • All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of prior inventory experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control principles and procedures.
  • Capable of demonstrating effective leadership and interpersonal skills, showcasing clear verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exhibits a commitment to detail in every aspect of task execution, ensuring nothing is overlooked and all objectives are met with precision and excellence.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in establishing and maintaining organized records.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Capable of prioritizing workflow efficiently while also demonstrating problem-solving skills.
  • Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong computer knowledge, including MS Office.
  • Capacity to engage with customers in a professional manner, if necessary.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus.
  • Previous experience with inventory management software.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience with using warehouse distribution equipment.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse environment.
  • The ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs., if necessary.
  • The ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time, if necessary.
  • The ability to bend, push, pull, twist, and reach in a continuous/repetitive capacity, if necessary.
