Location: North Central Iowa
Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – Completion)
Salary Range: $100,000 – $130,000 + Relocation Assistance
Job Description
Our organization is seeking a high-caliber Plant Superintendent to lead our 2nd-shift operations. This critical leadership role oversees the safe and efficient execution of production, maintenance, and utility operations. The successful candidate will be the primary authority on-site during the evening hours, ensuring that all refrigeration systems, production goals, and safety protocols are managed to the highest standard.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Manage all 2nd-shift plant activities, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
Team Management: Lead, train, and develop a team of technicians and production staff; conduct performance evaluations and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with OSHA, EPA, PSM (Process Safety Management), and RMP (Risk Management Plan) requirements.
Process Oversight: Monitor and adjust equipment settings (temperatures, pressures, flow rates) to maintain product consistency and safety.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with the 1st-shift leadership and the Maintenance Manager to ensure a seamless transition and clear communication of carryover tasks.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a technical field highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with specific exposure to meat processing or specialty food production preferred.
Management: At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in an industrial setting.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work a flexible "until done" schedule, including occasional weekends.
Physical ability to navigate a production floor (climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and working in varied temperature environments from 28°F to 100°F).
Strong bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) are considered an asset.
