Contract Paralegal (3-Month) — Litigation/Personal Injury

About the RoleAspen Careers is partnering with a small, plaintiff-side personal injury firm in Dublin, Ohio to hire a Contract Paralegal for a 3-month engagement. The ideal professional will jump in quickly to support active litigation matters—strong Ohio court filing experience is required; personal injury experience is preferred.

What You'll Do

• Own court filings in Ohio courts (state and local): e-filing/physical filing, service, and confirmation of acceptance; maintain proof of service.
• Prepare and file short-form pleadings and discovery-related documents (e.g., deposition notices, routine motions, initial disclosures).
• Calendar deadlines from court orders; support basic docketing and case tracking.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions, court reporters, and interpreters; manage related notices and exhibits.
• Assist with discovery (requests, responses, simple summaries, Bates labeling).
• Communicate directly with clients, attorneys, and court personnel to keep cases moving.

What You'll Bring

• Required: Demonstrated Ohio court filing experience (e-filing portals, local rules, service requirements).
• Preferred: Prior personal injury litigation exposure (plaintiff-side a plus).
• 2+ years as a paralegal or legal assistant in litigation.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal training and manage multiple matters.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and clear written/verbal communication.
• Experience with Clio is a plus (not required).
