Tax Advisor

Alpha Hire is working with a client to hire a highly skilled Tax Advisor who will support clients with high-quality tax preparation and planning services. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the clients tax and financial planning teams, helping clients navigate complex tax matters with accuracy, confidence, and clarity.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in public accounting and taxation who thrives in a client-focused environment and is motivated by delivering value beyond compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the tax department to prepare and review individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and payroll tax returns

• Deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality service to clients

• Identify and suggest opportunities to expand and deepen client relationships through additional service offerings

• Handle client inquiries and tax-related questions professionally and clearly

• Gather and organize client documentation to ensure accurate tax return preparation and regulatory compliance

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

• Experience: 3+ years in Public Accounting with a focus on tax

• Tax Forms: Experience preparing/reviewing forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, payroll tax forms, and Maryland Personal Property Tax Return

• Software: Proficiency with CCH ProSystem FX and QuickBooks

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks under pressure

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong client service orientation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong technical expertise in tax preparation and review

• Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm is a plus

• Master’s in Taxation preferred, but not required

• CPA designation preferred

• EA (Enrolled Agent) designation preferred

• CFP (Certified Financial Planner) preferred
