Job Description

The 3D Post-Processing Technologist is responsible for advanced visualization and post-processing of medical imaging data to create high-quality 3D reconstructions and quantitative analyses that support diagnostic interpretation, surgical planning, and clinical decision-making. Working closely with radiologists, Physicians, and clinical teams, this role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of 3D imaging outputs in accordance with departmental protocols and regulatory standards.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced 3D Post-Processing & Image Reconstruction: Creating 3D reconstructions, MPR, MIP, VR, and quantitative analyses from CT and MRI datasets. Tailoring outputs to specific clinical questions and protocols.

  • Clinical Collaboration & Case Consultation: Working directly with radiologists, Technologists, and referring providers. Reviewing cases, adjusting reconstructions in real time, and supporting procedural planning.

  • Image Quality Control & Protocol Compliance: Verifying anatomical accuracy, image quality, and consistency. Ensuring adherence to departmental standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

  • PACS / Data Management & Documentation: Managing imaging datasets in PACS, RIS, and 3D platforms. Maintaining case documentation, measurements, and audit-ready records.

  • Process Improvement, Training & Education: Assisting with protocol development and optimization. Providing education to technologists and physicians on 3D capabilities.

  • Quality Assurance & Administrative Tasks: Participating in QA initiatives, peer review, and performance improvement projects. Departmental meetings, compliance activities, and workflow coordination.

Position Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience

  • At minimum MR certification from the ARRT or ARMRIT and CT

  • CPR Certification.

  • Valid state driver's license, as applicable.

  • 2+ years of experience in MR or CT.

  • Strong knowledge of CT and MRI imaging principles and post-processing workflows

  • Must be self-motivated and encourage a positive work environment which promotes staff engagement and superior delivery of patient care.

  • Must have a strong a strong cardiology imaging background

  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5+ years of scanning experience preferred

  • Experience with TeraRecon is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease, communicable disease when interacting with patients, environmental hazards such as exposure to noise, and travel.

  • More than 50% of the time

  • Sit, stand, walk

  • Repetitive motion, eye sight, speech/hearing (able to communicate with patients)

  • Less than 50% of the time

  • Carry and lift weight (Ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam)

  • Stoop, kneel or crawl
