Home Helpers is currently seeking an experienced caregiver to provide medication reminders and light housekeeping. Candidates must have dementia experience, be comfortable around dogs, and be willing to drive the client for errands.

Responsibilities 

• Highly skilled and experienced caregiver required

• Comfortable and confident performing transfers

• Experience caring for clients with:

  • Dementia

  • Parkinson’s disease

• Strong awareness of fall prevention and safety protocols

• Friendly, kind, talkative, and engaging personality

• Punctual with strong time-management skills

• Medical & Care Details

• Client has a G-tube (caregivers do not manage tube feedings or administer medications via the tube)

• Client’s spouse manages all G-tube medications

• Caregiver provides medication reminders for eye drops and oral medications

• Assistance required with:

  • Showering

  • Toileting

  • Incontinence care

• Client can bear some weight

• Transfer Requirements

• Walker to chair

• Chair to wheelchair

• Wheelchair to bed

• Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, including bathing, toileting, and grooming

• Provide companionship and emotional support

• Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping

• Provide medication reminders as outlined in the care plan

• Follow each client’s individualized care plan

• Communicate professionally and effectively with families and team members

• Accurately document daily activities and observations

• Perform other caregiving duties as assigned

• Able to prepare basic meals

• Must be comfortable working in a home with a small dog

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of professional caregiving experience

• Experience supporting clients with dementia or memory care needs

• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor

• Excellent reliability and work ethic

• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current car insurance

• Ability to pass a 50-state background check and drug screening

Work Environment

Care is provided in the client’s private home. This position requires physical activity, including standing, walking, and assisting with personal care.
