We Are Hiring: Surgical Assistant (CFA) - OMH - 1.0 FTE

$10,000 Sign On Bonus!

ProHealth Care is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Assistant to join our team and provide essential support during surgical procedures. At Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, we perform procedures including General/Vascular, Orthopedics, Urology, and OB/GYN in our 8 operating rooms.

As an Orthopedic Center of Excellence, the majority of our cases are within the orthopedic service line. Our largest case volume includes same day discharge procedures for total joints. As part of our surgical team, you will contribute directly to making a positive impact on patients' lives.

Hours: 0630-1700 Mon-Friday, on call rotation Typically, 4 units of call per 6-week schedule, one weekend call rotation per 6 weeks, and 1-2 holiday call per year

What You Will Do:

The SA provides immediate support to the surgeon/physician during the performance of surgical procedures. The SA understands human anatomy; has developed surgical skill such as exposure, hemostasis, anatomical identification, wound closure and proper positioning of the patient for the procedure. The SA must have knowledge of the surgical procedure and ability to anticipate needs of the surgeon. The SA has a working knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique, peri-operative policies and procedural guidelines. The SA will work with the operating room RN to ensure the OR is safe, equipment is functioning properly and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

What You Will Need:

  • Graduate of a Surgical Tech program and a two year surgical first assist program or an accredited NBSTA/CSFA/SA program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain upon hire
