Description
Cooper Marine Mates are the backbone of our vessels. You'll be responsible for organizing the execution of all tasks aboard the vessel and will be in leadership role within the crew.
These tasks include but are not limited to:
- Supervising and coordinating activities of crew aboard vessel
- Inspecting towing gear, lifesaving equipment, and instructing crew to repair or replace defective equipment
- Directing activities of crew engaged in rigging towlines to barges or ship to be towed
- Maintaining accountability, welfare, and discipline of the deckhand's and assigned equipment
- Assist in the preparation, training, and leading of newly assigned deckhands and make recommendations to the Wheelhouse Manager on their performance
- Ensure timely submission and review all reports, forms, documents, etc. as required by management
- Capable of coordinating with CM customers(various terminals) and contracted employees to achieve a desired end state
- Conduct all other tasks generated by the Wheelhouse Manager as required
