What You Will Do:

  • Provides the direct, patient care for assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Documents patient treatment information accurately and in the appropriate patient record. Assists licensed nurse with pre- and post-dialysis patient assessments and their documentation.
  • Monitors and documents dialysis treatment parameters in patient's medical record.
  • Reports any significant information or change in patient condition to the supervisor.
  • Assists with all emergency operational procedures.
  • Initiates basic CPR measures in the event of cardiac and/or pulmonary arrest and responds to emergency situations related to dialysis treatment.
  • Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the water system.
  • Responsible for making sure lab tubes are properly processed and packed for delivery to outside laboratory.
  • Assists with patient education and documents accordingly.
  • Performs routine procedures, vital signs, and other appropriate tasks as delegated by ONA standards and RN.
  • Communicates patient information to the Assistant Director.
  • Documents basic care in patient's medical record.
  • Accurately and completely documents data pertinent to water treatment.
  • Able to safely operate all dialysis related equipment.
  • Able to provide minor trouble shooting when necessary.
  • Familiarity with all emergency equipment.
  • Completes the water training program annually.

What You Will Need:

  • Must be a high school graduate. Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Must successfully complete State approved training program and certification exam.
  • Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification: Must possess a current license as an Ohio Certified Dialysis Technician.
  • Must be currently certified in CPR (and recertified bi-annually).
