St. Matthew Catholic School6th-8th Grade Science Teacherfor the 2026-2027 School Year

Serving a diverse community of over 600 students from Kindergarten – 8th grade, our teachers collaborate with each other to educate our students to a high standard, in both academics and character. St. Matthew’s has a supportive parish community, and community of school parents, who partner with us in forming saints and scholars. We have a multitude of resources available to support all staff and to set up our teachers for success. We are a double class school; teachers have partner teachers to work and collaborate with, as well as full-time instructional aides in each classroom from K-4th, and a shared full-time instructional aide in 5th grade. Teachers have access to a generous classroom supply fund to utilize for materials and supplies for classroom enrichment beyond your provided basic classroom supplies.

Required Qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree
• Willingness to embrace the Catholic values and traditions of Saint Matthew Catholic School
• Enthusiasm for teamwork, collaboration, and collective efficacy
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching in a Catholic school (and ideally at the junior high level)
• Experience teaching Science
• Valid California teaching credential (or equivalent from another state) OR in the process of obtaining a CA Teaching Credential
• MA Degree
• Expertise with technology including various devices, document camera, Google, SmartBoard

Responsibilities:

• Support Saint Matthew Catholic School’s mission, philosophy, and SLE’s
• Prepare, deliver, and assess (engaging and interactive) lessons/units based on Archdiocesan Curriculum Guidelines
• Document student learning and report (communicate) regularly to administration and parents
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, students, and parents
• Supervise students inside and outside of the classroom, maintaining good rapport with students and effective classroom management.
• Perform all other duties outlined in our Faculty Handbook or assigned by the Leadership Team.

Salary & Benefits:

• Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt position.
• Salary: $54,500 - $104,931 Base range (Advanced Education & Certifications not included)
