Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Host Duties:
- Answer phones, take messages, and assist with reservations.
- Greet guests in a friendly and upbeat manner, ensuring a positive and lasting experience.
- Maintain an accurate waitlist when necessary, seating guests efficiently.
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize guest flow and service.
- Assist with bussing tables when needed to expedite seating for waiting guests.
- Communicate effectively with guests and management, addressing any concerns promptly.
- Ensure that the entrance and exit areas are organized and inviting.
- Sportsbook Writer Duties:
- Accurately process cash transactions.
- Receive and process sport or parlay tickets from customers and pay winning tickets and vouchers.
- Maintain and balance a till for issuing and redeeming tickets and vouchers.
- Ensure the sportsbook window is neat, stocked, and ready for the next shift.
- Adhere to all District of Columbia Office of Lottery and Gaming procedures.
- Remain alert to unusual betting patterns and report such activities to the Sportsbook Supervisor.
- Promote superior guest service by providing a positive and efficient sportsbook experience.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in customer service, hosting, or a similar role.
- Must be fluent in English; additional languages are preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for processing transactions and understanding betting information.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid license as required by the District of Columbia Office of Lottery and Gaming.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a high-energy environment, exposed to bright lights, loud noises, and alcohol.
