Cashier (All Locations)

Calandro's Supermarket is currently seeking Part-Time and Full-TimeCashiers and Front End Office Staff for our Perkins Road and Government Street locations. We're looking for someone who's interested in *customer satisfaction above all else* (a Calandro's hallmark) and who loves dealing with people and their teammates, while being fast and accurate working a register and pro-active and self-motivated in working in all front end activities (cashiering, bagging, selling, stocking, customer-relations, cleaning, etc.).

Open work schedule availability from 7:45am-8pm Monday thru Sundays (including holidays) is a must for full time orpart time positions .

Cashier Job Responsibilities and Requirements include, but are not limited to:

• running a register and checking out customers and their groceries,
• cash, check, credit and debit card handling,
• bagging groceries for other cashiers,
• cleaning your register and various other areas in the front of the store,
• collecting and organizing shopping carts and baskets (from parking lot and store),
• grocery bag stocking and organizing,
• price checks and helping customers locate specific groceries,
• light grocery stocking (at register and in other store areas), and
• keeping up with and working off of a documented schedule.

Candidate Requirements (musts) include, but are not limited to:

• being at least 18 years of age or older (for Cashiering / Liquor Licensing),
• being capable of cash handling/tracking and basic mathematical skills (for counting change, etc.),
• ability to work cash register (standing) for up to 5 hours (worst case) between breaks,
• ability to lift up to 35 lbs (e.g. large multi-pack of water),
• ability to gather up to 5 grocery hand-baskets at a time (stacked) from registers,
• ability to push and pull up to 5 standard-sized grocery carts (connected together in a train) in at a time from outside parking lots (even during inclement weather),
• possessing excellent customer-relations, teamwork, and communication skills,
• being proactive, self-motivated, reliable individuals, and
• ability to work approximately 16-28 hours a week for part-time positions and 32-40 hours a week for full-time positions.

Optional (but Desired) Skills and Experience include, but are not limited to:

• prior grocery-store experience,
• prior bagging experience,
• prior stocking experience,
• prior checkout, cashier, and/or cash-handling experience,
• prior experience in multi-tasking and time-management,
• prior experience in front-end and/or customer-relations positions, and
• interest, ability, and/or prior experience in working in fast-paced job environments requiring speed, accuracy, and performance under pressure.
