Job Description

Perform all duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor/Manager/Director. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Identifies deficiencies and deviations from maintenance schedules and standards and performs regular Preventive Maintenance on various HVAC equipment. Performs general repairs/maintenance. Assists other HVAC tradesmen as directed. May operate light or heavy equipment, and maintains equipment and tools. Assists with snow removal as needed. Other job-related duties as assigned. Overtime may be required. Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills: High school diploma or GED. Ability to read, write and follow directions. Basic computer skills. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mechanical, Low Voltage electrical, heating/cooling and general repairs. Must be familiar with and adhere to all the safety rules and regulations for the University Safety Policy which apply to the work environment. Know how to Lockout/Tagout equipment. Valid driver’s license. Physical Requirements: Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job. Must be able to lift and carry heavy items up and down stairs. Must be able to spend a significant amount of time outside in all weather conditions. Be able to work off ladders and on roofs. Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
