Job Description
Liberty Community Programs is looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Approved Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP). This is an exciting opportunity to support individuals with developmental disabilities in managing their medications and ensuring their health and well-being. As an AMAP, you will play a crucial role in providing medication administration, monitoring, and reporting any changes in the clients’ health to the relevant medical personnel.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing the self-administration of medications by clients, assisting with medication organization, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with state regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Assist clients in understanding their medication schedules.
- Monitor clients for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications.
- Maintain organized and accurate medication records and documentation.
- Report any relevant health information or medication concerns to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
- Educate clients about the importance of medication adherence.
- Participate in ongoing training and meetings.
Requirements
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as Approved Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP).
- Must have valid driver’s license and car insurance.
- Must have TB test, criminal background clearance.
- Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals or in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration policies and procedures.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and assist clients with mobility if needed.
- Experience in documenting and reporting health information.
- Previous experience working in a group home is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy is essential for understanding patient needs and medication effects.

Salary: $13.39 - $14.35 per hour
