This is an On-The-Job-Training opportunity that allows those who need some additional skills for the job to be hired and trained on the job with a starting earning potential of $50,000- $65,000 in your first year with overtime pay factored in. Your starting rate depends on your experience. You will learn how to drive and park a 53 ft trailer with a jockey truck and you will also learn the in's and out's of being a ground person walking along the railroad tracks climbing on and off of rail cars. On the job training is also available to become a forklift operator and crane operator if the employee in the position of Jockey Driver/Ground person proves to be a safe and dependable employee. Room for advancement. We run 24/7/365 day facilities.Pay:

$19.80/ hr.

Shift:

6am or 6pm.
10 hour shifts.

Primary Responsibilities:

Drive company vehicles in a safe manner.
Spotting and parking of Intermodal freight trailers.
Locking and unlocking of Intermodal freight trains.
Be safety-minded and follow the rules and regulations.

Physical Responsibilities:

Climb in and out of vehicles numerous times throughout the shift.
Alternate between walking and sitting.
Constant climbing, stooping, twisting, and turning while performing Groundperson duties.

Applicants for the Jockey Driver/Groundperson position must meet the general requirements for employment with the company, according to the Company hiring process which include:

A valid Driver's License.
Must be able to pass a 7-year background check. Any felonies in the last 7 years of jail time in the last 5 years will disqualify applicants.
Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test.
Must be able to pass an IPCS Physical Capabilities Test.
(No GED or diploma required).

You will be employed directly by Pacific Rail Services and will not be considered an employee of the Railroad.
