OVERVIEW

The Account Executive works closely with the senior team to drive media relations and influencer outreach for the division’s key accounts. The ideal candidate possesses a keen understanding of the media landscape alongside a strong track record of securing top-tier placements. Applicants must have experience fostering relationships with influencers and contributing to creative brainstorms and client strategies.

The ability to communicate effectively with staff, clients, and external contacts in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment is crucial. This role requires a professional who is flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient while managing competing priorities. Additionally, candidates must hold a genuine interest in the CPG, influencer, and entertainment industries in which this position operates.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partnered with senior executives to execute strategic communications campaigns, specializing in media relations, influencer marketing, and product placement.
  • Established network of relationships with long-lead, short-lead, and digital editors
  • Minimum of two years of experience managing and mentoring junior staff
  • Prior agency experience is required for this role
  • 4-year college degree required
  • Strong command of social media platforms and the evolving influencer landscape

Participate in Professional Development opportunities:

  • Network with PR professionals and media

Attend networking industry events

  • Share reports on media news, digital advances, and publications (trade & consumer)
  • Contribute innovative & creative ideas to company brainstorms
  • Build relationships with hair and makeup experts as needed

SKILLS

  • 3-4 years of PR experience, specifically within the CPG and consumer categories
  • Assign, supervise, and manage the activities of an Account Coordinator
  • Execute media relations and strategic communications plans across clients with an emphasis on product placement
  • Lead, encourage, mentor, and develop junior staff members under the direction of a senior account executive
  • Demonstrate effective organizational and project management skills
  • Work well under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Participate in brainstorms and contribute creative ideas
  • Exhibit excellent verbal, written, presentation, organizational, and follow-up skills
  • Write interesting, creative, and effective press releases, media alerts, and press materials
  • Create and maintain media pitch grids for the division
  • Pitch product and brand profiles effectively
  • Possess knowledge of the consumer industry and popular culture
  • Coordinate and execute client events
  • Work in a team environment as an enthusiastic player who collaborates well with others
  • Network actively with media, PR professionals, and at industry events
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and media representatives
