Job Title: Account Manager – Commercial
Job Summary
The Account Manager (AM) is a customer-facing sales position focused on maintaining and growing revenue with Timberline Manufacturing's existing OEM customers in our Commercial business, which provides build-to-print contract manufacturing of Electrical Wire Harnesses and Industrial Control Panels.
The AM serves as the primary point of contact for all current business and new opportunities at assigned accounts, with a strong emphasis on building trusted, long-term customer relationships.
Team Structure & Collaboration: The AM works as part of a dedicated sales team alongside a Business Development Manager (BDM) and Customer Service Representative assigned to a specific group of customers.
- Existing customers: The AM owns the relationship and drives ongoing business and growth.
- New customers: The AM partners with the BDM during the initial phase. Once the account is established, the AM has primary responsibility for maintaining and expanding the business.
- The AM collaborates with the BDM on all significant growth opportunities.
Specific roles and responsibilities are clarified during Account Management and Pursuit Planning processes.
Travel Requirement This is a proactive, customer-facing role. The AM is expected to travel regularly to customer sites to strengthen relationships and uncover new growth opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Relationship & Communication
- Act as the customer's advocate internally
- Communicate requirements clearly to internal teams
- Build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships
- Proactively address issues and provide timely updates
Account Growth & Business Development
- Identify and qualify new opportunities
- Create account plans and pursuit strategies
- Provide competitive insights and pricing guidance
- Deliver accurate forecasts and maintain opportunity pipelines
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Inside Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to meet customer needs
- Lead internal teams during RFQ and quoting processes
- Support development of long‑term agreements and partnerships
Strategic Account Management
- Understand customer priorities and success criteria
- Position Timberline as a preferred supplier
- Manage customer scorecards and key performance expectations

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of Sales experience or related experience
- Excellent sales skills with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets
- Must have a positive, customer centric mindset
- Must be detailed oriented with the ability to perform multiple tasks effectively with a focus of timeliness, responsiveness and accuracy
- Experience with CRM a plus
- Ability to hold a driver's license is required
- This position requires up to 40% travel, with some overnight trips to client locations across the U.S.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Business or a Technical field preferred
