Job DetailsPosition Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist with 2–4 years of experience in the construction industry to support project accounting and billing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AIA billing, contract invoicing, lien waivers, and working closely with project managers to ensure accurate and timely billing for construction projects. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and a solid understanding of construction accounting processes.Responsibilities:Prepare and process monthly progress billings, including AIA G702/G703 formsReview contracts, schedules of values, and billing requirements for accuracy and complianceTrack and manage project billing statuses, retainage, and change ordersCoordinate with project managers and accounting staff to ensure timely submission of invoicesPrepare and maintain supporting documentation for owner billingsMonitor collections and assist with accounts receivable follow-up as neededProcess lien waivers, certified payroll documentation, and related project paperworkReconcile billing discrepancies and resolve client invoicing issuesMaintain organized billing records and documentation for multiple active projectsAssist with month-end close activities related to project billing and receivablesEnsure compliance with company policies and contract requirementsQualifications:2–4 years of billing experience within the construction industryStrong experience with AIA billing and construction contract invoicingFamiliarity with schedules of values, retainage, change orders, and lien waiversKnowledge of construction accounting principles and project-based billingProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP softwareExperience with systems such as Sage, Viewpoint, CMiC, Procore, or similar platforms is preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsPreferred Qualifications:Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferredExperience working with general contractors, subcontractors, or commercial construction firmsUnderstanding of compliance documentation and project closeout processesInterested in hearing more?
