Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive team-member to take ownership of key components within our accounting cycle. In this versatile role, the Accountant II will manage our fixed asset inventory, maintain strict compliance and controls for vendor records, complete reconciliations timely, and drive accuracy across various tax and audit schedules. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who exercises excellent judgment when balancing competing daily priorities.

Essential Responsibilities:

Fixed Asset Management

  • Manage the fixed asset lifecycle: Prepare all accounting entries for the purchase, sale, and disposition of fixed assets, including construction in progress and monthly depreciation expense.
  • Reconciliation and Reporting: Complete monthly reconciliations and provide reporting to partners within the organization.
  • Conduct physical inventories: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording and perform periodic physical inventories.

Vendor Compliance & Accounts Payable

  • Oversee vendor records: Manage vendor setup and maintenance in the financial system, including updates for mergers, name changes, and address modifications.
  • Ensure tax compliance: Collect and maintain W-9 forms, evaluate compliance requirements for different vendor types, and prepare/electronically file year-end 1099s with the IRS and applicable states.
  • Safeguard disbursements: Securely set up and maintain vendor bank information for direct deposits, enforcing strong internal accounting controls over all electronic cash disbursements.

General Ledger, Audit & Tax

  • Execute bank reconciliations: Perform accurate and timely reconciliations of various bank accounts, proactively researching and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Support audits and tax filings: Create detailed schedules and reconciliations to support the annual financial statement audit, monthly close processes, and local, state, and federal tax filings.
  • Support direct service teams: Partner with direct service teams to maintain necessary accounting segments to ensure the accurate recording of client-related expenses.

Systems, Administration & Workflow

  • Drive system enhancements: Participate in project work to test, install, and implement accounting system applications, assisting in developing business requirements for automated solutions.
  • Navigate competing priorities: Exercise excellent judgment to balance daily, weekly, and monthly accounting cadences with rush requests, maintaining a proactive and communicative approach at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Accounting or related field, prior Fixed Asset experience, and at least three years' experience in a professional environment. Equivalent experience and coursework may be considered.

  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive Understands and adheres to code of ethics and helps maintain a strong system of internal controls.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required. Experience with NetSuite and 1099PRO is strongly preferred.
  • Other desirable qualities include a strong initiative and self-starting approach, an ability to embrace change, and a highly developed customer service orientation. Ability to work onsite full-time to meet the collaborative responsibilities that are essential for position. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • This position requires an individual with a growth mindset, who is willing to learn and improve upon existing processes. This individual should strive for continuous quality improvement.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift and reach for light objects; ability to type and work at a computer for extended periods of time as a primary job function.
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of sensitive information by learning and following all relevant policies and protocols and using sound judgment in the handling and sharing of that information.
  • Local travel as well as occasional out of town travel may be required. Driving on Casey business may require use of personal vehicle; adherence to vehicle safety guidelines and qualification for insurance is required.

The typical hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $72,505 to $85,300. The full salary range for the role is $72,505 to $98,095. As a mission-driven organization, Casey strives to balance competitive pay with our mission. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.

Casey Family Programs offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision coverage, accrual of 12 days of annual leave, 12 days of sick leave,10 paid holidays per year, and each employee receives one personal holiday to use each calendar year. Employees that meet certain tenure qualifiers are eligible for up to eight weeks of parental leave for the birth or placement of a child for adoption or foster care. After the completion of 10 years of continuous, full-time regular employment, employees in good standing are permitted for a three-month sabbatical with pay. CFP also offers many opportunities for continued learning, training, and development.
