Job Description
NATURE OF WORK: The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing support to multiple positions in the accounting department and by doing so assures that daily business transactions are recorded timely and accurately.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Prepares daily and/or weekly reports to be sent to management and supervisors.
- Records cash receipts for use of cash application and back reconciliations.
- Assists with maintaining and reporting for client payee accounts.
- Prepares and supports accounts payable schedules or entries and purchasing.
- Prepares grant reconciliations and reporting monthly and quarterly.
- Prepares financial, budget, and grant analysis as requested.
- Prepares and supports credit card receipt collection and entry.
- Assists with monthly closing processes, including preparing schedules, entering journal entries, and assisting with financial reporting.
- Prepares reconciliations of asset and liability accounts monthly to ensure validity and completeness.
- Prepares and acquires approval of monthly general ledger entries, prepares and posts standard and recurring monthly entries, including adjustments, and closing entries.
- Assists with preparing grant invoices and reporting.
- Other reconciliations and account analysis as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
