Job Description

POSITION Accounting Assistant II Position Type: TemporarySchedule: M-F, 7:00 am - 4:00 pmAssignment Length: Approximately 8-Months, possibly longer.Description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Assistant II to support their Accounts Payable and accounting operations within the Power Delivery Services division. This temporary role is ideal for someone with strong accounting support experience, excellent computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The Accounting Assistant will perform general accounting duties, ensure accurate payment processing, assist with account reconciliations, and support internal and external customer inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general accounting duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and established accounting principles.

  • Prepare monthly general journal entries.

  • Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including payment processing.

  • Prepare payments accurately and timely, ensuring alignment with payment terms and agreements.

  • Maintain documentation and governance for vendor master data.

  • Handle and track checks requiring special handling and internal client pick-up.

  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries promptly and professionally.

  • Assist with account reconciliation activities, including AP and general ledger accounts.

  • Complete miscellaneous projects and tasks as assigned to support Direct Claim payments and AP operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1+ year of experience supporting reconciliation of accounts payable and/or general ledger functions.

  • Broad knowledge of accounting practices, company procedures, and relevant systems.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Proven attention to detail with accurate data entry capabilities.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • AP experience and general accounting background preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Three to four years of increasingly responsible general accounting or AP experience (typical for the role). INDH
