Job Description

  • POSITION: Accounting Associate        
  • DEPARTMENT: Finance Department    
  • REPORTS TO: Finance Director     
  • FLSA STATUS: Salaried/Exempt

    ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManage the day-to-day tasks of reconciliation including daily cash room reconciliation.
  •     Produce and distribute Daily Flash Sales for View Boston Operations.Manage AP & AR processes maintaining accuracy throughout the processes with attention to detail.
  •     Oversee the inventory process and perform in-depth cost of goods analysis.Develop and coordinate automated accounting applications and processes.
  •     Provide audit support for all financial activity.Assist Director of Finance in budgeting process, including analyze budget to actual and analyze and report on variances.
  •     Work directly with the Director of Finance to prepare operations analysis and reports.Participate in month-end activities including the preparation/review of journal entries and variance analysis.
  •     Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled with resolution to reconciling items.Manage the processes which ensure accurate and timely financial statements and month end close.
  •     Manage the weekly disbursement of payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.Analyze monthly balance sheet and P&L figures to prepare comments and expose performance trends.
  •     Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Finance as needed.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE     

  •     Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.Two or more years of progressive accounting experience.SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  •     Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  •     Ability to build solid working relationships with business and department leaders.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  •     Ability to effectively evaluate risks and liabilities of special events.Detail oriented and ability to work independently.
  •     Effective teamwork and exceptional personal integrity.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  •     Excellent customer service and organizational skills, outstanding vendor communication.  
  •     Knowledge of accounting policy and procedures and POS Systems.Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheet, database, CRM, and word processing programs.
  •     Strong interpersonal skills; can effectively communicate (oral and written) and influence decision making.Responds quickly and effectively to changing trends and circumstances; embraces change and welcomes fresh perspectives; Ability to learn new programs and procedures quickly.Ability to work the occasional nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
