For over 100 years, Morse Manufacturing has been a global leader in drum handling equipment, proudly designing and manufacturing innovative products right here in Central New York. We're seeking an experienced Accounting & Finance Manager to lead our accounting operations and serve as a key business partner to the President and leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys both managing day-to-day financial activities and contributing to strategic business decisions.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, cash flow reports, and other key financial metrics.
- Manage weekly payroll and maintain payroll-related reporting.
- Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Partner with leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and profitability initiatives.
- Assist with manufacturing cost analysis and inventory valuation.
- Coordinate with external accounting partners on tax filings, annual compilations, and audits.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership and guidance to accounting team members.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, payroll, and general accounting principles.
- Experience supervising or leading accounting functions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred, but not required.
