Pinehurst Country Club is currently recruiting for a Summer Accounting Intern! This is a part-time, season position expected to work from May - October! There is potential for full-time status at the end of the seasonal, probationary period.
PositionSummary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientedAccounting Internto join the Finance team at Pinehurst Country Club for Summer 2026. This role provides hands-on experience in financial operations within a private club environment, where accuracy, service, and strong relationships are essential.
This opportunity is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field whodemonstratesstrong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and an interest in the hospitality industry. High-performing interns may be considered for an ongoing part-time position with the Club.
Job Duties & Functions
Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, andtimelysubmission from multiple club departments
Enter and manage accounts payable transactions in Northstar, including reviewing forappropriate generalledger coding and tax application
Assistwith preparing and processing weekly check runs and electronic payments
Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and account questions in a professional andtimelymanner
Partner with department leaders (Food & Beverage, Golf, Grounds, Facilities, etc.) to ensure invoices are properly approved and aligned with departmental budgets
Maintain organized andaccuratefinancial records, including filing invoices and supporting documentation (both digital and physical)
Support month-end closing processes byassistingwith reconciliations and ensuring all invoices are recorded
Help improve organization and efficiency within accounts payable processes, including document management and workflow tracking
Assistwith special projects andadditionaladministrative tasks within the Finance team as needed
Job Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Basic understanding of accounting principles (such as debits/credits and general ledger concepts)
Strong attention to detail anda high levelof accuracy when working with numbers and data
Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
Strong communicationskills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal departments
Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
Willingness to learn new systems and processes (experience with accounting software is a plus, but not)
Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and integrity
Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset
Interest in the hospitality or private club industry is a plus
Essential Functions
Ability to balance, stoop, crouch, reach, handle, finger, feel, speak, hear, and see (near and far) to a significant extent
Ability to walk and stand to a significant degree, exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time and conduct repetitive motions
Ability to work with distractions and interruptions in a shared work environment
Ability to be physically present at the work location on a regular basis
