Job Title: Accounting Manager
Department: Accounting/Finance
Reports to: Controller
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable function, overseeing accounting staff, maintaining accounting records, and producing periodic and ad-hoc financial reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Understands and follows established financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
- Prepares work timely with a high degree of accuracy and thoughtfulness
- Directs accounts receivable and accounting staff
- Collaborates with personnel outside of accounting on a regular basis
- Proactively identifies issues and proposes solutions
- Protects assets and mitigates risks by practicing internal controls
- Supports internal and external audits for responsible areas
- Regularly collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends and reports to management
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- Management experience required
- Internal control experience required, Sarbanes-Oxley experience preferred
- CPA preferred
- Manufacturing company experience preferred
- Public accounting auditing experience preferred
