Position SummaryThe Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting the accounting department and Company by ensuring the integrity of financial information and results through compliance with Company policies and procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Responsibilities include overseeing key accounting functions including expenses, accruals, prepaid accounts, cash, and payroll accounting to produce financial and regulatory reports based on those records. Other responsibilities include performing accounting and financial analysis, reviewing account reconciliations and assisting in the preparation of accounting statements and reports. This role will partner closely with Finance and other cross-functional teams to support month-end close and ongoing financial operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to expenses, accruals, prepaid accounts, cash, and payroll.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

  • Oversee operating expense accounting, including review of expense classifications and accrual estimates.

  • Coordinate with business partners to ensure completeness and accuracy of accruals.

  • Analyze expense trends and variances and provide explanations to management.

  • Review and evaluate prepaid expenses and balances, ensuring proper amortization and accurate period recognition, according to policy.

  • Oversee cash accounting, including bank reconciliations and cash-related journal entries, ensuring appropriate recording of cash transactions and balances.

  • Manage domestic and international payroll accounting, including payroll journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and payroll-related audits and compliance requirements.

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls over assigned areas to ensure compliance with company policies, U.S. GAAP, and regulatory requirements, and support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls.

  • Assist with system implementations or upgrades related to accounting processes.

  • Mentor and review work of accounting staff.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support business initiatives and financial transparency.

  • Prepare and review financial reports for accuracy; complete any additional review or investigation required.

  • Assist as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as requested.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • CPA required.

  • 6-8+ years of experience working in accounting preferably in a Big 4 or large company.

  • Strong experience with month-end close.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new accounting software.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.

  • Must possess ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

  • Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.
