Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, reclassifications, and corrections
- Perform bank and account reconciliations for operating accounts, loan funding accounts, and reserve accounts
- Reconcile line-of-credit balances, advances, repayments, and interest accruals
- Monitor daily cash activity and balances across multiple accounts; track and reconcile fund disbursements
- Track interest accruals and fees, ensuring invoices are accurately prepared, issued, and collected
- Lead month-end close processes related to cash, interest, payables, and loan activity
- Oversee and assist with accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding, and approval
- Your work directly supports accurate financial reporting, strong cash flow management, and regulatory compliance - helping drive sound business decisions.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience in lending, mortgage, banking, or financial services, in a fast paced, high-urgency environment
- Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations and cash activity, and proficiency managing multiple funding/revenue sources
- Experience leading month-end close processes related to cash, interest, payables, and loan activity
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, general ledger accounting, and transactional accounting, ideally in a lending environment (fund disbursements, reconciliations, invoicing, accounts payable)
- Excellent, professional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the discretion to handle confidential financial information
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), with required Excel skills in formulas and reconciliations
- Experience with warehouse lines, loan accounting, or interest tracking
- Familiarity with accounting or loan systems used in mortgage or lending environments
