Job Description
FocusPoint is partnering with a well established, growth oriented organization to identify an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day to day financial operations and support leadership with accurate, timely reporting. This full time, on site role is ideal for a detail driven accounting professional who thrives in a hands on environment and enjoys managing the full accounting cycle for a multi department or multi entity structure.
About the Role
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing core accounting functions, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and reporting standards. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a high level of professionalism when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management
- Prepare monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, and workpapers
- Review financials and propose adjusting journal entries as needed
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow tracking
- Perform monthly reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts
- Analyze financial statements for accuracy, trends, and variances
- Support payroll processes and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Prepare and file non income related tax documents (e.g., sales tax, property tax, annual filings)
- Maintain and improve accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls
- Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and operational support
- Utilize accounting software and Excel to produce reports and analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience in private industry
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Experience preparing financial statements and supporting documentation
- Familiarity with AP/AR processes, reconciliations, and month end close
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism when interacting with leadership
