If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting Manager for our non-profit organization. This is a remote, permanent position that offers an exceptional opportunity to leverage your financial acumen to support our mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities:

As the Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in our organization's financial management. Your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing and managing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
2. Developing and implementing effective financial strategies, controls, and processes to ensure the organization's financial health.
3. Preparing and presenting monthly financial reports for senior management, including financial statements, budget variance reports, and forecasts.
4. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
5. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting variances back to top management.
6. Working closely with external auditors and managing the audit process.
7. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures, including CAS compliance.
8. Providing leadership and support to accounts receivable and accounts payable departments.
9. Collaborating with the Controller to improve financial procedures.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or MBA is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a non-profit or healthcare setting.
3. Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, with a solid understanding of assurance, private and public accounting.
4. Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, particularly strong in Excel.
5. Knowledge of CAS and experience with financial reporting.
6. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
10. Experience with grant management and reporting is a plus.
