Job DetailsAccounting ManagerThe Accounting Manager supports the Controller and CFO in overseeing core accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance for a multi-entity transportation business. This role ensures accurate, timely financial reporting, maintains strong internal controls, and drives process improvements in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Day to Day Responsibilities:Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements
Produce weekly profit reporting and management reports
Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to leadership
Support ad hoc financial analysis

Tax & Compliance

Coordinate with third-party tax preparers for corporate tax filings
Prepare and file sales/use, IFTA, and related tax returns
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Accounting Operations

Support month-end close and general ledger reconciliations
Maintain and strengthen internal controls
Assist with internal and external audit coordination

Budgeting & Forecasting

Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
Partner with leadership to align financial plans with business goals

AR / AP Oversight

Monitor AR metrics (DSO, aging, cash forecasting)
Monitor AP metrics (DPO, aging, discount utilization, cash flow)

Process Improvement

Streamline accounting workflows and enhance reporting accuracy

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
4+ years of accounting experience
Strong GAAP and tax compliance knowledge
Experience in multi-entity or multi-location environments preferred
Proficient in ERP systems

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA preferred
3+ years Big 4 Public Accounting experience
