Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

(Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following):

  • Accounting Operations & Financial ReportingOversee and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and balance sheets, at the Holding Company level and across all supported entities.
  •     Manage month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely, accurate completion.Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial adjustments.
  •     Prepare and review financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP and other applicable standards.Ensure proper accounting treatment for transactions including revenue recognition, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and fixed assets.
  •     Ensure all financial reports comply with legal requirements and established deadlines.Partner with bookkeeper to record and classify day-to-day financial transactions across multiple entities with accuracy and consistency, and assist with bank and credit card reconciliations and maintain reconciled general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
  • Compliance, Controls & AuditImplement and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting across all entities.
  •     Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies.Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and manage internal audit activities.
  •     Support tax compliance by coordinating with the tax team and external advisors on filings, planning, and documentation for local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Process Improvement & SystemsContinuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and systems for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across the entity portfolio.
  •     Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks and reduce manual error.Collaborate with IT and finance stakeholders on the implementation or upgrade of accounting software and tools.
  • Accounting Leadership & Cross-Functional CollaborationServe as the accounting subject matter expert across supported entities, providing guidance and consistency where others may look to this role for direction.
  •     Mentor team members and share accounting knowledge in ways that build capability across the broader team.Partner with finance, operations, HR, and other departments to ensure accounting activities align with business goals and are understood by non-financial stakeholders.
  •     Provide financial insight and guidance to other departments on cost controls, revenue tracking, and budgeting.Roll up your sleeves alongside the team, contributing directly to bookkeeping and transactional work as needed. 

    QUALIFICATIONS

    (To perform the job successfully, the candidate should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this job.)

    • 5+ years of experience in accounting (preferred in 3+ years of experience in public accounting)
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
    • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Demonstrated ability to prepare and review financial statements and perform financial analysis.
    • Knowledge of internal controls, accounting systems, and financial compliance.
    • Familiarity with tax regulations and multi-entity or multi-industry accounting environments.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with comfort working from data to drive recommendations.
    • Clear and effective communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex financial information for non-financial audiences.
    • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset and the ability to lead through expertise and influence rather than hierarchy.

    The expected salary range for this position is between:

    $91,000.00 - $126,500.00

    The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
