About The Company

Nazdar manufactures the most comprehensive selection of UV, water-based, and solvent-based screen printing inks, flexographic inks, and wide-format digital inks obtainable from a single source. Nazdar inks are primarily used by printers in the Point of Purchase (POP), Banner, Container, Industrial, Metal, Nameplate- Membrane Switch, Roll Label, Sign, and Textile decorating markets.

About The Job

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations for Nazdar while owning and executing the monthly close process in its entirety, including consolidation of international results. This role provides direct oversight of detailed accounting activities, including reconciliations and general ledger integrity, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. This individual will exercise sound judgment in balancing precision with efficiency and serves as a technical resource and backup for financial systems Infor M3, M1 and Vena FP&A Software, while supporting cross-functional and strategic initiatives.

Duties And Responsibilities

Ownership of Financial Reporting & Close Processes

  • Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Oversee preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Maintain and ensure integrity of the chart of accounts and general ledger structure.
  • Apply GAAP principles to routine and complex transactions, including judgmental areas.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve accounting discrepancies with strong attention to detail.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, supporting schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide direct oversight of detailed, time-intensive accounting work and reconciliations.
  • Establish clear expectations for performance, accountability, and deadlines.
  • Coach and develop team members’ technical accounting knowledge and professional skills.
  • Delegate effectively to enable efficiency while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Translate high-level direction from the Controller/Director into actionable steps and deliverables.

Systems, Analysis & Technical Expertise

  • Maintain full working knowledge of Vena and serve as backup coverage for detailed system work.
  • Maintain full working knowledge of M3 including set up of chart of accounts.
  • Partner with FP&A and other departments on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting needs.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
  • Exercise judgment in determining when to perform detailed analysis versus when estimates are appropriate to meet deadlines.

Audit, Controls & Compliance

  • Lead and coordinate the annual financial audit process and serve as primary liaison to external auditors.
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare audit documentation and support walkthroughs and testing processes.
  • Support tax preparation and coordinate with external advisors as needed.

Process Improvement & Strategic Support

  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization across accounting processes.
  • Balance adherence to established procedures with flexibility for non-routine or complex matters.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Payroll, Treasury, Operations, FP&A, and Thrall Enterprises Inc (Parent Company).
  • Manage special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and execute a full monthly close process.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience coaching and developing staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
