Accounting Manager

ACCOUNTING MANAGER Location; Newport Beach, CAJOB DESCRIPTION The Enterprise Reconciliation Center of Excellence (COE) Manager is responsible for leading reconciliation and operational accounting activities across suspense, cash, and other transitory accounts for all supported business divisions, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations, resolution of complex reconciling items, and effective management of financial and operational risk. This role provides day-to-day leadership and oversight of the COE team, including prioritizing work, reviewing aging and outstanding suspense items, driving issue resolution and escalation, and ensuring reconciliation activities are completed in accordance with established controls, service levels, and performance expectations. The Manager partners closely with Accounting, Operations, Treasury, Tax, EFS, Technology, and divisional stakeholders to address upstream and downstream issues and strengthen end-to-end processes. The Manager also supports month-end and quarter-end close, internal and external audit requests, ICFR and control activities, process documentation, system and process enhancements, and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and suspense account reconciliation experience, demonstrated people leadership, and the ability to manage complex priorities across multiple business lines in a fast-paced environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead reconciliation and operational accounting activities across suspense, cash, and other transitory accounts for supported business divisions.
• Prioritize team activities and ensure timely and accurate completion of reconciliation activities.
• Review aging and outstanding suspense items and drive resolution of complex reconciling items.
• Drive issue resolution and escalation as needed.
• Ensure reconciliation activities are completed in accordance with established controls, service levels, and performance expectations.
• Partner closely with Accounting, Operations, Treasury, Tax, EFS, Technology, and divisional stakeholders to address upstream and downstream issues and strengthen end-to-end processes.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities.
• Support internal and external audit requests, ICFR, and control activities.
• Maintain and support process documentation.
• Support system and process enhancements and strategic initiatives.
• Effectively manage complex priorities across multiple business lines in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years strong accounting and suspense account reconciliation experience.

• Demonstrated people leadership experience.
• Ability to manage complex priorities across multiple business lines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ability to drive issue resolution and escalation.
• Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Must be able to help lead a team based out of Newport Beach.
• Ideal candidate will live in the Newport Beach area and be able to work a hybrid schedule at the Newport Beach office.
