Job Description
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas of accounting for all corporations within Sheppard Pratt Health System. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure that financial statements are accurately and timely reported. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including oversight of and/or actual preparation of monthly general ledger entries, financial reports, audit, and various financial and account analyses. The Accounting Manager will have contact with leadership and requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
What to expect
- Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the general ledger structure and financialactivity for each program.
- Coordinates and ensures the timely reporting of all monthly financial information for inclusion in monthly financial statements.
- Manages the month-end close process.
- Performs and/or supervises various financial and account analyses.
- Supports audit work.
- Collaborates with the other team members to support overall organization and department goals and objectives.
- Assists in development and implementation of controls and procedures as necessary to enhance the workflow of finance department, to ensure accurate financial reporting, and to ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Performs all other job related duties as is assigned.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
What we need from you
- Work requires 5 years of direct job related experience along with a well demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and theory normally acquired through a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting.
- 7+ years prior experience in the financial reporting/analysis/general ledger area.
- Must be PC proficient and must have strong experience with GL accounting software
