Responsibilities: As the leader of our accounting department, responsibilities will include:
- Manage and supervise all phases of cash management, and managerial and financial accounting of the Association, including, though not limited to,
- General ledger maintenance
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Grants management
- Budget preparation and oversight, including forecasting
- Bank and account reconciliations
- Capital assets and inventory
- Routine mandatory tax and government reporting
- Payroll and membership draft processing and systems
- Policies and procedures
- Compliance with GAAP, PCI, internal controls, and other relevant governing standards
- Maintain highly confidential, organized, clean, and accurate financial records in accordance with YMCA policies and retention guidelines.
- Responsible for recruiting, training, and supervision of accounting and finance support staff.
- Responsible for the smooth and timely completion of the annual audit of the Association, working with an outside auditing firm.
- Manage and monitor central purchasing, business insurance, and personnel and benefit package for the Association.
- Internal reporting and project work, whether routine or upon request.
Education and Experience:· A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, though we may consider an Associate's degree and experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. We'd also prefer a minimum of three years' relevant accounting experience and minimum of one year experience supervising others Experience with non-profit accounting is a plus.
