Job Description

TwentyThree North is partnering with a multi-unit restaurant organization on its Accounting Manager search. The role will oversee the month-end close process and support the accounting operations of this rapidly growing organization. This role will play a key part in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple restaurant locations, while strengthening accounting processes, controls, and systems.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has experience managing accounting processes for high-volume, multi-entity operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and execute the monthly close process across multiple restaurant locations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals prepared by the accounting team.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, identifying trends and variances.
Ensure accurate accounting for revenue, COGS, labor, inventory, and operating expenses.
Maintain and improve the close calendar and checklist to ensure deadlines are met.
Monitor and maintain internal controls over financial reporting.
Identify opportunities to streamline the close process and improve efficiency.
Supervise and mentor senior accountants and staff accountants responsible for daily accounting functions.
Review work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.

Assist with year-end audit preparation, including schedules and supporting documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of accounting experience
CPA licence preferred
Experience managing month-end close in a multi-entity environment
Restaurant, hospitality, retail, or multi-unit experience strongly preferred
Experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Restaurant365, or similar systems
Strong understanding of GAAP
