Accounting Manager/Controller

Accounting Manager / ControllerCentral Valley, CA | Full-Time | Onsite | $90,000–$100,000We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations, strengthen financial processes, and support continued growth within an established, operations-focused business.This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who also wants to contribute to the bigger financial picture. You will work closely with leadership, improve systems and workflows, and have the potential to grow into a Controller role as the business expands. What You’ll Do

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including the general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow reports
• Monitor expenses, analyze variances, and provide meaningful financial insights to leadership
• Improve accounting procedures, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency
• Help transition manual, paper-based processes into digital systems and streamlined workflows
• Support accounting software improvements, automation, internal controls, and audit preparation
• Partner with leadership and operational teams to support financial planning and business decisions
• Guide and develop accounting staff while building reliable, efficient processes

What We’re Looking ForRequired qualifications

• Several years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on responsibility for core accounting functions
• Prior experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Accounting Supervisor, Senior Accountant, or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial performance reporting
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate effectively with leadership

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in transportation, trucking, agriculture, farming, distribution, manufacturing, retail, or another operations-focused industry
• Experience improving accounting processes or moving a department from paper-based workflows to digital systems
• Familiarity with accounting software, ERP systems, process automation, and internal controls
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
