Job Description
Primary Function:
As a Senior level Accounting Officer, Analyze financial information and prepare financial reconciliations and reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, or other financial activities within ICCU.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reconciliations of general ledger and internal accounts.
- Research outstanding transaction exceptions and finalize transaction postings.
- Track expenditures by categories and business line budgets.
- Approve journal entries from junior accountants and Operations personnel.
- Prepare and post journal entries to proper accounts.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Manage Credit Union’s daily cash position including borrowing funds if necessary.
- Report Credit Union’s daily liquidity and borrowing position to CFO and Controller.
- Report to management regarding the finances of Idaho Central Credit Union.
- Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Manage Insurance for the Credit Union.
- Assist in Monthly IT reports and statement reviews.
- Manage Deposit Reclassification process for Federal Reserve Sweep accounts.
- Manage Deposit and Loan branch reclassification process.
- Manage corporate banking accounts and investments
- Prepare Financial Statements and other Reports.
- Assist Controller in proper entry posting and transaction questions during monthly close process.
- Represent Accounting on new IT projects to ensure Accounting needs new processes are analyzed and implemented.
- Maintain Chart of Accounts in both General Ledger and Core banking systems.
- Complete Weekly Federal Reserve FR2900 report.
- Mentor and assist junior level accountants when needed.
- Close books and post Financial Statements to Reports Central and Diligent.
- Complete various audits
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 5 years accounting experience. Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Must have the ability to work under pressure and organize tasks for optimal performance. Requires excellent organizational, communication, and relationship building skills.

Must take pride in department, always meeting and exceeding member’s expectations. Must be professional and courteous in manner, with a focus on details, attendance, quality and quantity of work performed. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by ICCU.
Physical Requirements:
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing etc.).
- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Reach keyboards.
- Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
