WORK SCHEDULE
Hours as necessitated by teaching responsibilities, office hours, and other duties as assigned.
JOB SUMMARY
The School of Business invites applications for a full-time accounting faculty. This position will begin July 1, 2026. The primary teaching discipline for this position is accounting but could include some areas of business administration.
Candidates with either an M.B.A or Master's in Accounting/Accountancy with an active CPA credential are encouraged to apply. Applicants with additional qualifications such as D.B.A., Ph.D., Ed.D., or D.S.L. are highly preferred. Candidates without a doctoral degree would be expected to pursue doctoral work.
The successful candidate will be an instructor who is able to combine a theoretical understanding of accounting and business, a biblical worldview, and experience to real world business situations. Teaching will occur primarily on campus in a face-to-face environment; however, some online instruction will be necessary. The faculty member will be required to advise students, collaborate with other faculty in the School of Business, engage in assessment and student continual improvement practices, and participate in all aspects of the department's activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Teach within the field of expertise and remain current in the field by following trends in the field, availing oneself of further education, etc., being careful always to present findings in the light of a biblical perspective.
- Mentor undergraduate students and be strongly committed to fostering inclusive learning environments, active pedagogy, and academic success of all students.
- Communicate well in face-to-face courses and if necessary, online courses.
- Utilize Canvas LMS and other university systems for classroom management.
- Teach a full load as defined in the Faculty Handbook.
- Assist with the assessment process and accreditation reporting for their field of expertise.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and business managers to provide practical business experiences for students.
- Engage in department service including curriculum development, student recruitment/retention, program promotion, and advising.
- Serve on university committees as assigned.
- Pursue scholarly activities relevant to teaching discipline and academic focus.
- Foster professional relationships with students beyond the classroom by sponsoring co-curricular activities that enhance the educational experience.
- Able to relate to colleagues in the SNU community and serve as a representative to the professional community beyond SNU.
- Able to travel locally, regionally, and nationally if needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
