This is a foundational, entry-level role focused on learning core bookkeeping and funeral-home accounting fundamentals — debits/credits, general ledger coding, the chart of accounts, and standard workflows — while completing assigned tasks accurately with review. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
  • Communicate and reinforce the mission and vision of DIG and its subsidiaries.

  • Maintain key accounting processes required for monthly, quarterly, and annual filings and deadlines.
  • May process accounts payable (A/P) for assigned clients — including vendor invoices, payment runs, and vendor records — if assigned this responsibility at the supervisor's discretion.
  • Utilize client administration software to support accurate revenue recognition and documentation.
  • Maintain and update client workflows to ensure assigned work is complete and timely.
  • Double-check own entries and work to catch errors before they reach review, not the client.
  • Follow established procedures and raise questions or escalate anything outside the routine rather than improvising.
  • Begin keeping personal notes on how to perform recurring tasks as a foundation for future documentation.
  • Prioritize time-sensitive tasks and manage assigned workload, relying on a supervisor to set priorities.
  • Learn and adopt the team's AI and automation tools — AI assistants, automated bank feeds, data entry — as part of daily work, and ask how manual steps could be automated.
