Accounting Specialist – Owatonna Branch
Business Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm
Join our dynamic team at HomeTown Credit Union at our Bridge Street Branch in Owatonna, MN, as a full-time Accounting Specialist and embark on an exciting career journey!

As our Accounting Specialist, you'll handle essential daily accounting functions that keep our Credit Union running smoothly, from accurately entering transactions and balancing key accounts to managing accounts payable and completing reconciliations. You'll partner closely with our Controller on internal and external audits, provide timely support to staff and members, and play an active role in enhancing our processes. Your insights and recommendations will help strengthen our operations and advance the Credit Union's mission and vision.
In this onsite role, you'll not only enhance your skills but also build meaningful relationships within the community. With a starting pay between $22.25 - $27.50 per hour, your career will thrive in an environment centered around integrity and excellence. Your role as an Accounting Specialist
As a full-time Accounting Specialist at HomeTown Credit Union, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our valued members, delivering exceptional banking services with professionalism and courtesy. Your role will be essential in fostering our member-centric environment, acting as a vital liaison between members and other Credit Union staff. By effectively communicating and addressing member needs, you will enhance the overall experience and satisfaction.

Are you a good fit for the Accounting Specialist role?
To excel as a full-time Accounting Specialist at HomeTown Credit Union, a combination of essential skills and experience is necessary. An associate's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience is required. Experience working within a financial institution is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications-including Outlook, Word, and Excel-is important for daily tasks, alongside proficiency in 10-key data entry by touch to ensure accuracy in transactions.
