Accounting Specialist

Accounting SpecialistWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist (temp-to-hire) to support daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchase and sales reconciliation. This role is responsible for processing invoices and payments, maintaining accurate financial records, resolving account discrepancies, and coordinating with internal teams, customers, and vendors to ensure efficient and accurate accounting processes.Location: Albany, NYCompensation: $22 - $29/hr.Key Responsibilities:

• Manage purchase order requests and vendor invoices, ensuring timely approvals, accurate data entry, and proper posting in the accounting system.
• Match vendor invoices to purchase orders accurately and promptly, ensuring applicable vendor discounts are identified and applied.
• Research and resolve accounts payable discrepancies by communicating directly with vendors and internal managers.
• Process and maintain new vendor requests and ensure vendor information is accurate and up to date.
• Maintain vendor purchase information records and approved source lists.
• Track vendor pricing changes and ensure updates are entered into the accounting software monthly.
• Review the Goods Received/Invoice Received account weekly to identify outstanding items and help prevent late payments.
• Review and update vendor and item lists across applicable systems.
• Reconcile customer accounts related to purchasing and sales transactions.
• Research and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
• Collaborate with internal departments, customers, and vendors to address account issues and support timely reconciliation.

• Associate of Science degree in Accounting.
• One to three years of experience in an accounting or related financial role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using QuickBooks Online.
